Assignments Update

What are the icons in the table header for?

If any information is incorrect, please contact your departmental co-ordinator. If sent marks need changing, please contact the course convenor.

IMPORTANT: Remember to save the marks you are entering frequently! Use the 'Save' button in the table header.

This table displays a list of all the students in the selected teaching group and allows you to enter marks and feedback for non-contributory (informal) assignments, or to enter marks and feedback for contributory (formal) assessments that the convenor has delegated to you. You can also send marks to the convenor once all marks have been entered.

The maximum possible mark for the assignment is displayed in the table header.

Enter a student's mark as a number into the 'Mark' column. Enter the status by clicking on the drop-down list in the 'Status' column. Do *not* deduct any penalty for lateness. The system takes care of this. Simply enter the mark as you would if the work had been submitted on time.

If the maximum mark for the assignment is less than 100, enter the marks as a whole number or as a number with a single decimal place. If the maximum mark is greater than or equal to 100, enter

You should also enter individual and general feedback for your teaching group. The feedback and marks will only be displayed to students when you send the marks to the Assessment Convenor AND the Assessment Convenor releases the marks. If you enter a 0/NS mark/status the student will not see the general feedback.

The feedback field will default to a 'read-only' view. If you wish to edit or enter feedback click on the edit or enter feedback link. To enter feedback for all students click the 'Edit All Feedback' button which will open all students' feedback in edit mode.

If not all your students are displayed, you can click on the '+' sign in the righthand side of the table footer to view all.

Once all the marks for a contributory assessment have been recorded, a 'Send Formal Marks' button will be displayed above the table. Clicking on this sends the marks to the course convenor.

For formal assessments, students who are auditing the course, and who are therefore not set up for these, are excluded from this list.

Please note that for Presentations - for which the date of presentation can vary across students - the Due Date is the final date on which a presentation can be given. Generally this date is set to the Friday of the 10th (final) week of term.
