Non Contributory Setup

What are the icons in the table header for?

This table displays the non-contributory assignments that have already been set up for the teaching group you have selected.

You can use this table to:

  • view assignments
  • add a new assignment by using the 'Add' button
  • edit existing assignments by using the 'Edit' button

Adding an assignment

Use the 'Add' button to create a new assignment. You will be required to specify the assignment type, maximum mark, term, week, day, and time.

If there are any duplicates, you will be warned of this. You will see that the row is flagged with a Red cross used as an error flag. If you want to have two assignments of the same type due in at exactly the same time, you will need to use a comment to differentiate the assignments. If you did not mean to add a duplicate, you should use the 'Delete' button to get rid of the new row.

When you add a new assignment, it will be displayed to you with a  New! flag.

Editing and deleting assignments

You can edit and delete existing assignments for which no marks have been entered.

Once marks have been entered for an assignment, the rules around editing change a little. Unless all you are editing is the 'Comments' field, you will be warned when you try to edit an assignment for which marks have been entered. The row will be flagged with Warning that marks rows exist. If you are sure that you want to save your changes, you can go ahead and do this. Otherwise, use the 'Cancel' button.

Once marks have been entered for an assignment, it is not possible to delete it. If you try to delete an assignment with marks already entered, you will see an error message and the record will be flagged with a Red cross used as an error flag.
