Room Swap Search

What are the icons in the table header for?

If the 'Swap Agreed' button is greyed out, click on the 'Send Email' button to send an email to the person you wish to swap with. This will activate the 'Swap Agreed' button.

  • The names of potential matches for a specific residence will be listed on this screen.

  • If they live in a residence with separate blocks (e.g. Park Village or Northfield) then the block information will be shown here.

  • You will be able to click on the Send Email button to send the person an email to arrange to swap rooms.

  • Once you have emailed the person through Sussex Direct either of you will be able to agree the swap in principal by clicking the Swap Agreed button. You must have reached a mutual agreement to swap before clicking this button.
Please note, the 'Swap Agreed' button will remain greyed out until an email has been sent through Sussex Direct.

  • Once the Swap Agreed button has been clicked then the other party will receive an email asking them to also agree the swap.

  • If a mistake has been made, either party will be able to decline the swap agreement at this stage.

  • Once both parties have agreed the swap, then you must both go to the Housing Office, to complete the necessary paperwork and formalise your room swap.

Please Note: Swapping rooms without Housing Office consent is a serious fire-safety issue, a breach of your tenancy and will incur a fine of £250.
