Room Swaps

What are the icons in the table header for?

Current term-time address: Shows your current address;

Residence Requested: Shows the building residence you have requested in your room swap;

Created Date: The date you created the record

Status: The status of your room swap record:

    • Current - Room swap record is available for others to search for and view;
    • Awaiting Approval - Either party has agreed the swap in principal.  The other party will need to cofirm this;
    • Unavailable - Whilst waiting for approval, all your other room swap records will become 'unavailable'.  If either party declines the swap, then these records will become current again.

Swap Details: If you have agreed to swap with another student, their details will show up here.

Rooms Available: Shows if there are any room swap matches. Click on this button to view your matches and arrange a swap.

How to Create a New Room Swap Record

  • Click on the ‘Create New’ button to create your new room swap record.

  • You will see your current university term time address as well as a drop-down list of all the buildings you can move to.

  • You will need to create a new room swap record for every building you wish to move to.

  • If there are people in a building who wish to move to your current building this will be indicated in the ‘(XX available’) label against the building.
    For example, you are in East Slope and wish to move to Park Village.  If anyone wishes to move out of Park Village into East Slope then you will see (1 available) indicated against Park Village on the drop-down list.

  • If there are no rooms 'available' yet, then you should still create the record.  Someone may come along later who wants to swap with you!
  • Your room swap record will only last for 14 days; so if you haven't managed to swap before then, just create a new record once your old record has expired.
